Victoria Monte Ph.D. earned her master’s from Columbia University and doctorate from New York University. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at Children’s Hospital Colorado with the Solid Organ Transplant program. Her predoctoral internship was at the Cheyenne Veterans Affairs where she focused on helping individuals with medically complex and psychosocial issues using evidenced based practices. Prior to moving to Colorado, Dr. Monte trained at Rikers Island Correctional facility treating severely mentally ill incarcerated men, and community mental health and college counseling centers. Additionally, she has published articles in peer reviewed journals in areas related to cultural and health psychology. Dr. Monte treats adolescents, adults and older adults using cognitive behavioral therapies and mindfulness based practices. In addition to treating a range of issues (e.g., coping with chronic illness, stress, trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges), she conducts bariatric surgical evaluations.
